From RedWingsBaseball.com: Joshua Johnson's RBI double capped a three-run sixth inning as Durham rallied for a 6-4 win over visiting Rochester on Friday.
The Bulls trailed, 4-2, when Chris Richard and Joel Guzman started the sixth with singles and moved up on Jorge Velandia's sarifice. Jason Pridie delivered a run-scoring groundout and Guzman came home when third baseman Tommy Watkins threw wildly after fielding Jeremy Owens' grounder.
Johnson followed with a double to left field to plate Owens and give the Bulls (42-40) a 5-4 lead.
Owens belted a solo homer, his fifth, in the fourth and Justin Ruggiano contributed three hits and an RBI.
Durham starter Jeff Niemann (9-4) allowed four runs -- one earned -- on seven hits while striking out seven and walking four in six innings for his fifth straight win. Chad Orvella retired all four batters he faced to record his 10th save.
Matt Tolbert hit an RBI groundout in the fifth and, three batters later, Glenn Williams delivered a two-run single for the Red Wings (42-37). Brian Buscher went 2-for-4.
Rochester starter Jeremy Cummings surrendered four runs -- three earned -- on seven hits in five-plus innings, striking out four and walking one. Julio DePaula (4-5) took the loss after yielding two unearned runs on four hits in two frames.

From nhfishercats.com: Chip Cannon hit his 13th home run of the season to propel the Fisher Cats to a series finale win over the New Britain Rock Cats, 9-4.
Cannon, who led the Eastern League in home runs last year, connected in the third inning to drove home David Smith and give New Hampshire an 8-1 lead. The first base slugger finished the game 2 for 4 with three RBI and one run scored.
The Fisher Cats jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first inning. Manny Mayorson got aboard with a walk, Robinzon Diaz got to first on an error and Aaron Mathews singled to load the bases for Rob Cosby. Cosby lined a double to left center field to bring in all three runs in what was named the RELCO Enlightening Play of the Game. Cannon drove home Cosby with a single for inning's final run.
The Fisher Cats scored again in the second and third. In the second, John Schneider and Ryan Klosterman led off with back-to-back singles, and both were driven home on Robinzon Diaz's single. In the third, Cosby led off wth a fly out, but then Smith tripled and Cannon hit his home run to center field.
New Hampshire tallied their ninth run in the eighth inning when Klosterman got on by the Rock Cats 1B Brock Peterson's error and Mayorson doubled the shortstop home.
Kurt Isenberg earned the win to improve to 3-4 by going six innings and giving up only nine hits, one walk and four runs while striking out six. Jean Machi relieved Isenberg in the seventh and got out of the inning only giving up one walk. Sean Stidfole threw the final two innings without allowing a base runner while striking out two.
Jesse Floyd took the loss for New Britain by allowing nine hits, one walk and eight runs (seven earned).
The Rock Cats now travel to Reading, where they will take on the Phillies for a game starting at 7:05 on Saturday. New Britain's Ryan Mullins (0-1, 2.29) is expected to take on Readings' Matt Maloney (6-6, 3.86).

St. Lucie at Fort Myers (Postponed - Rain)

The fireworks were not scheduled until tomorrow, but mother nature gave the Miracle faithful a preview show tonight with a spectacular lightning display followed by a rain storm.
As a result the field became unplayable and the baseball game between St. Lucie and Fort Myers was rescheduled as a double header on Saturday starting at 5:05 PM.
Matt Garza's call up to the Minnesota Twins caused the return of Chris Heinz to Rochester, which in turn moved Korey Feiner down to New Britain and Jeff Christy back down to the Miracle.
Sadly, this movement put an end to Toby Gardenhire's brief but glorious career as a catcher. He was taking practice at short stop again today.
I was correct though in my belief that I had adopted a Toby Gardenhire bat from the gift shop, he took one look at it and said "Yes, that's mine."
Well, it was Toby. Now it's mine. However, I allowed him to sign it for me.
The bowl of the stadium was evacuated shortly after he signed it due to the lightning. It's one of the very few times I recall them actually evacuating the stadium bowl.
That pretty much put an end to any autographing as well. Hopefully I can get that one Mets pitcher on Saturday, as we do not see St. Lucie again this season.

From snappersbaseball.com: The Snappers scored runs in the bottom of the seventh and eighth innings to claim game one of the four game series with the Clinton LumberKings Friday night. Jesus Carnevales pitched two innings of scoreless relief to pick up his third win of the season.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the seventh inning when Beloit would get on the board. Danny Berg led the inning off with a hit by pitch and advanced to second with his second stolen base of the night. Danny Santiesteban followed Danny with a single to right and ended up driving home Berg from second on the play. Berg was able to score on a throwing error from LumberKings’ shortstop, Marcus Lemon. Eli Tintor drove Santiesteban home later in the inning with an RBI groundout to short.
The Snappers struck again in the bottom of the eighth inning off the bat of Danny Berg. Berg hit a sacrifice fly to center, scoring the newest Snapper, Chris Cates, from third. Cates reached earlier in the inning off a fielding error from Clinton first baseman, Mauro Gomez.
Rob Delaney came on in the ninth, struck out two, and picked up his league leading 25th save.

From MiLB.com: Friday night's Appalachian League game between the Burlington Royals and Elizabethton Twins was suspended due to rain.
It will be resumed on Saturday at 6 p.m. ET.
The Twins had a 2-0 lead when play was halted in the bottom of the third inning.
