Fort Myers 3 at Clearwater 4

Darren Byrd held the Fort Myers Miracle scoreless through 8 innings to lead the last placed Clearwater Threshers to a a 4-3 win over the first half division champions.
Michael Taylor doubled in the bottom of the 2nd to get on base. Clearwater's Tuffy Gosewisch then hit his 2nd home run of the season over the left field wall to give the Threshers a two-run lead.
A walk to Taylor and doubles to Gosewisch and Gary Cates lead to two more runs in the bottom of the 4th. Deolis Guerra would finish off allowing 4 runs on five hits and a walk while striking out five over five innings.
Danny Berg singled to lead off the top of the ninth and Steve Singleton doubled him in. Edward Ovalle would go down on strikes, but Wilson Ramos followed that up with a double that brought in Sing. Ben Pfinsgraff would then come in to replace Byrd and allowed a single to Garrett Olson that scored Ramos. Eli Tintor would go down on strikes and Matt German would take over on the mound to get Danny Santiesteban to hit into a ground out to protect the Clearwater lead and end the contest.
Singleton was 3-for-4 with a pair of doubles, a run and a run batted in to lead the Miracle offense. Tintor was 2-for-4 with a double but did not factor into the scoring. Wilson Ramos was 1-for-2 with a double, a pair of walks, a run and a run batted in. Berg, Olson and Santiesteban were all 1-for-4, Berg with a run and Olson with a RBI to leave Santiesteban as the one hit wonder of the night.
The two teams rematch on Friday with Oswaldo Sosa (2-0, 3.57) on the mound against Clearwater's Joe Savery (5-8, 3.85), who will toss out the first pitch at 7:00 PM.
