Oeltjen got the Wings on board with his home run to right center in the bottom of third, his first of the season and first of his Triple-A career.

In the fourth inning, Mateo hit a single, advanced on a wild pitch, then scored on Santiago's second RBI triple of the day. He hit this one to the right center field wall to put the Mud Hens up, 5-1.

In the fifth, Span drilled a two-out RBI double to plate Tolbert. An inning later the Wings added another run and knocked Vasquez out of the game. Lew Ford led off with a double, and two batters later Jose Morales doubled in Ford - prompting Vasquez' exit for reliever Corey Hamman.

Perez and Raburn hit back-to-back singles in the fifth, and Brian Bass came in to relieve Garza on the mound. Both runners scored on Hannahan's double. The Mud Hens added another run in the seventh inning by way of Raburn's solo home run to left center field.

Oeltjen made an excellent running catch to rob Hannahan of his third hit.

NOTES: Both Vasquez and Garza struck out the side in the first inning...Twins Farm Director Jim Rantz, who was inducted into the team's Hall of Fame Saturday at the Metrodome, watched the game. Rantz is in town to see the Wings this week, joined by another Twins Hall of Famer: World Series winning manager (and former Red Wing) Tom Kelly... Minor League Baseball teams drew 5,905,069 fans during the month of April, the highest total in the 106-year history of the industry. The total represented an increase of 2.1% over the 2006 total, when the Minor Leagues set their all-time record season total of 41,710,357. The record April total was achieved despite unseasonable snow storms in the Northeast and Midwest during the opening weekend. The leagues hardest hit by weather - –the International, Eastern and Midwest - collectively lost 82 playing dates through postponements....The Red Wings pitching staff hadn't allowed a single run in the fifth inning this season, outscoring their opponents 14-0 in the fifth frame - until Toledo scored two in the fifth Monday...Last week’s series win in Toledo was the Red Wings first series win in Toledo since August 23-25, 1996 (2 games to 1). It was also the first four-game series win in Toledo since July 4-7, 1994 (12 road four-game series). If the Red Wings can win this four-game series at Frontier Field it would be the first series win in Rochester since July 28-31, 2001. In addition, if Rochester can at least split this four-game series it would be the first time since 1997 that Rochester has won a season series from Toledo.

Fort Myers 1 at St. Lucie 0

Record 11 - 20

W: K. Waldrop (4-1, 2.92); L: J. De La Torre (2-3, 4.61); SV: E. Morlan (4)
HR: None.

E: Betsill (5, fielding), Christy (3, throw), White (5, fielding).

From miraclebaseball.com: Fort Myers Miracle second baseman Steve Tolleson came up with a game-saving, diving catch in the bottom of the ninth as the Miracle survived the St. Lucie Mets snapping their nine-game losing streak with a 1-0 win at Tradition Field. After Tolleson’s diving catch at second, he then flipped to Matt Betsill at the second base bag to double off Jamar Hill ending the game.

In the contest, the Mets would have quality scoring chances in eight of the nine innings played on Monday night. The St. Lucie ninth began with déjà vu from Sunday as Jamar Hill’s fly ball to right popped in and out of Dwayne White’s glove allowing Hill to reach on the two-base error. Pinch-hitter Jonathan Malo would then follow with a base hit bunt that failed to move Hill to third. After Miracle closer Eddie Morlan fanned Sean Henry for the first out, he then retired Jose Castro on a screaming line-drive to second that Tolleson snared to his right preserving the 1-0 win.

The lone run of the ball game came in the Miracle fourth as Erik Lis drew a lead-off walk to begin the inning. After a strikeout by Edward Ovalle and a pop out by White, it was catcher Jeff Christy coming through with a two-out double to right-center scoring Lis and giving the Miracle their 1-0 lead.

St. Lucie stranded 11 base runners in the loss on Monday night. The Mets had runners at the corners in the second before Miracle starter Kyle Waldrop got the Mets Josh Petersen to roll a ground ball to short ending the inning. In the Mets fourth, Drew Butera led off with a walk followed by Emmanuel Garcia’s single to right putting runners at first and second with nobody out. After a failed sacrifice attempt and strikeout by Corey Coles, Waldrop would then get Hill to pop out and Petersen to ground out ending the threat.

Relievers Frank Mata and Eddie Morlan pitch shutout ball in the final 3.1 innings to preserve Waldrop’s fourth win of the season. Mata tossed 1.1 innings allowing just one hit and fanning two while Morlan picked up his fourth save of the year with two innings of work also allowing one hit with four strikeouts.

The Miracle and Mets will wrap up the four-game series Tuesday night at Tradition Field with the Miracle sending LHP Ryan Mullins (0-2, 2.76) to the rubber against RHP Deolis Guerra (1-3, 3.60) for the Mets.

4 hits, 3 errors is hardly a receipe for success. They were lucky this time.

Beloit 0 at Great Lakes 4

Record 16-11

W: C. White (1-4, 3.38); L: J. Lugo (1-2, 3.77)
HR: GLL: A. Gonzalez (1), P. Mattingly (1).

E: Yersich (4, fielding).

The Loons’ Preston Mattingly highlighted a three run first inning for Great Lakes. Preston hit the first pitch he saw over the left field wall to help the Loons get an early 3-0 lead. The three runs would prove to be more than enough for Great Lakes.

Singles from Danny Berg, Brian Dinkelman, and Yancarlos Ortiz were the only hits the Snappers were able to get all day long. The loss dropped the Snappers to a 16-11 overall record.

Jose Lugo picked up his second loss of the season as he went six innings, allowing three runs on nine hits. Lugo’s ERA is now 3.77.
