New Britain Rock Cats Press Release

New Britain, CT - The New Britain Rock Cats announced today that RHP Frank Mata, a 24-year-old relief specialist from Barcelona, Venezuela, has been assigned to the Eastern League team, effective today. Now in his sixth season of professional baseball, the 6'0"/220-pound hurler will be making his second career stop in the Hardware City. In 2007, Mata made 32 appearances out of the Rock Cats bullpen, recording 3 Saves and posting a 5.36 ERA. He will be in a New Britain uniform tonight in time for the Rock Cats' 6:35 PM game against the Altoona Curve at New Britain Stadium.
